Hi my name is Rosina Akinola. I am a single mom with three beautiful children. I have two boys and one girl. My oldest son Sidney Maurice Jackson Jr was murdered at the age 19, on November 21, 2015. He was coming back home and got killed for not joining a gang. Sidney only had 6 months of school let to get his Associates Degree in Business.
His son Jai turned one month old on November 22, 2015 and my 37th birthday was two days after his murder November 23, 2015. My daughter’s 16th birthday was December 26, 2015. They were supposed to spend it together and I didn’t know until her birthday. She was devastated and had a suicide attempt on January 21, 2016 two months to the date my son died. My grandson’s other grandmother showed my daughter the video of Sidney convulsing at gas pump number 6 at the Weigel’s gas station on Summit Hill Drive. I did not know about the video until my daughter told me after her suicide attempt. I was forced to quit medical school because she needed intense inpatient and out patient therapy. All I need was my externship hours to get my diploma and at first I was upset. But, know realize I have the knowledge and that piece of paper doesn’t have power over me. At first I was upset at my instructor because I felt cheated.
However, since them my mom, who is my best friend died February 3, 2018. I haven’t seen my grandson since January 27, 2018. I have started a non profit organization
“Save Our Families Incorporated.’ For families who have lost loved ones due to violence is our mission. But, we are here to help anyone in need if we can. We are taking back what the enemy stole from us, which, was our ‘”JOY!” We care if no one else does. We understand how it feels when you have lost someone near and dear to you. We do not judge because we know everyone grieves differently because we all have our own personal relationship with the family member. Our goal is to give Comfort and Hope to the Hopeless. We ant to help families stay together and not fall apart. We all need one another especially our youth. We are tying to stop the cycle of violence and drug and alcohol use with teens. Save Our Families Incorporated can provide I information to families to get answers about their loved ones murder. It doesn’t matter if it’s a cold case. We are here to make sure you don’t give up on trying to get answers or justice. We are here to help in anyway possible because we understand the pain. We can empathize and sympathize with you.

WE DO OUR BEST TO HELP FAMILIES WHO ARE IN NEED IN OUR COMMUNITIES.
- Give hope to the hopeless with love
- Lead people to know our Savior Jesus Christ
- Encourage families to stay together because we are truly stronger together than we are apart.
- Encourage mothers not to give up on themselves and their living family members especially their children.
- Give Biblical coping skills for families to pray their way through.
- Take emergency calls for people who are depressed and may feel suicidal because we have experienced this ourselves.
- Leading people Biblically from the Word of God and from our own experiences.
- Showing love throughout the world.
Understand no one wants this to be their reality.
I never thought I would ever bury a child until I buried my son Sidney Maurice Jackson Jr. Understand that no one is exempt to burying a child. Stop judging people who have buried children because you just might be the next mom making funeral arrangements. Do think for one minute the Lord will continue to allow you to pass judgements about a situation you have never experienced. Keep passing judgements and you will be the next mother or father crying wanting answers about your son or daughter unsolved murder like many other parents here in Knoxville Tennessee. My son was a college student six months away from graduating and was murdered. There has been children that are athletes who have been killed. Children that had a great future ahead of them and they were killed. So understand, your child no matter how gifted or talented he or she may be can be killed. Stop with the judgements because you to shall be judged.
